We are participating in The Penny Project coordinated by National Ministries, American Baptist Churches USA, to raise awareness of the extent of child poverty throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, and support for programs and ministries responding to the needs of children in poverty. Inspired by the example of the youth of First Baptist Church in New London, N.H.—who raised 60,000 pennies to represent the number of children living in poverty in their state—National Ministries is encouraging the youth of American Baptist Churches USA to raise 14 million pennies to represent the number of children living in poverty in the United States and Puerto Rico. For more information, visit www.nationalministries.org/CIP/ or call 1-800-222-3872, ext. 2158. Jars for you donations are available at all WABC events, in the church sanctuary. Out total to date is:

13,063 Pennies!

"Break the Chains"

A Nation Project With Global Impact
The American Baptist Women's Ministries 2007-2009 Project

Did you know?
  • Approximately 800,000 to 900,000 victims annually are trafficked across international borders worldwide.
  • Between 18,000 and 20,000 of those victims are trafficked into the U.S.
  • The majority of those victims are women and girls.

Thank you to everyone who donated, helped or purchased jewelry at our April 5th Sale. Thanks to you, we raised over $1000 for this worthy cause!
