The WABC Handbell Choir (Kathi Gellar, director) meets each Thursday night at 6PM in the sanctuary. This is an inter-generational/community choir. The repertoire includes both sacred and secular music. Recommended for ages 10 and up. It is helpful, though not necessary, to read music. The Bell Choir rehearses in two seasons, October-December and February-June. Folks are welcome to join at the beginning of any season. Please see Kathi for details.
The Chancel Choir (Kathi Gellar, director) will rehearse at 7:15PM in the sanctuary on the first and fourth Thursday of the month, and sing in church on the first and second Sunday of each month. All are welcome. Rehearsals last approximately an hour and a half. The repertoire varies widely, from traditional anthems to contemporary worship songs. Please see Kathi for details.
In addition to these ensembles, the Music Committee is pleased to announce a new group! We are forming a Women’s Praise Chorus (Kathi Gellar, director). This group will rehearse the second and third Thursday of the month at 7:15PM in the sanctuary, and will sing in church on the fourth Sunday of the month. All women are welcome. Rehearsals will last approximately an hour and a half. The repertoire will consist only of contemporary Christian/praise music. If there are men interested, please see Kathi--we could possibly expand. The repertoire for the first few months will consist of the following (subject to change): Days of Elijah (Robin Mark), Be Unto Your Name or Hallulujah (Your Love is Amazing), and Hallelujah (Light Has Come) Barlowgirl. Also on tap, brand new songs by Laura Story and Matt Redman.
